6^th International Antwerp Open, Antwerp, Belgium

The International Antwerp Open took place this weekend. This is one of Belgium's most prestigious events of the year, with participants from 17 countries. John Jayne won Gold at -60 kg in the U15 age band and placed 7^th in the U17 age band. In the U17 John lost in the fourth round (the quarter final), then won his first match in the repechage and then lost his next match by a penalty in Golden Score to last year's U15 Dutch National Champion at -55 kg, who eventually won a Bronze medal.

John won Bronze in this competition four years ago at -34 kg in the U15 age band. John won Gold three years ago at -37 kg in the U15 age band. Two years ago John won Gold at -42 kg in the U15 and Bronze in the U17.
