This was an excellent competition with boys and girls from five of the regions of Spain.

On Saturday morning John Jayne won Gold in the 1996-1997 age band at -38 kg.

On Saturday afternoon John moved up a weight class to compete in the 1994-1995 age band at -42 kg. In the second round John won a close match with a boy from Bulgaria. John won his remaining matches decisively to take the Gold medal in this weight and age band as well.
