9th Warsaw Judo Open, Warsaw, Poland

Two members of the Moberly Judo Club participated in the 9th Warsaw Judo Open. This competition had three age bands: Boys born in 1993-96, Boys born in 1991-94 and Boys born in 1988-1992. John Jayne entered at -38 kg in the first age band and Aaron Turner entered at -50 kg in the second age band. Both lost their first match to boys that did not progress to the semi-final. This competition was for serious judo competitors from special sports schools and high level competition clubs. There were no recreational clubs or players. Along with the competition we went to in St Petersburg, Russia, this event is at a higher level than all of the other competitions in which we have participated in the last two years. It was an excellent learning experience. We definitely intent to return and to do much better next year.
