10th International Thüringer Messe-Cup, Erfurt, Germany, 16 June 2007

This was a major German event for under 15 year olds and, as part of the selection process for the German National Squad, attracted the best boys and girls from 113 clubs and regional teams in Germany and several foreign countries, including Austria, Czech Republic, England, Hungary, Israel, Poland and Slovakia. John Jayne entered in the -34 kg category. There were 22 boys in his group. He won the Bronze medal, after losing in the quarter final to the eventual gold medalist by one score ( watch the video and judge for yourself if it was really a score). He won all of his other matches 10/0.

15th International ega-Pokal, Erfurt, Germany, 17 June 2007

This was a very high level competition for under 13 year olds, and attracted boys and girls from 56 clubs from Austria, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Poland and Slovakia. John Jayne entered in the -35 kg category, which had 39 boys. He again won the Bronze medal, after losing a very close match in the semi-final on flags.
