18-26 July 2014 The USA Junior National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota, is the largest junior wrestling event of the year in the US for Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. Each State is allowed a maximum of four entries in each weight class and each State has qualifying events for the selection of their “State Team”. There were close to 900 entries in Greco-Roman and close to 1100 entries in Freestyle from 45 States plus two entries from Americans in Europe. John Jayne was Moberly Judo Club’s only entry from Great Britain. John placed 7th out of 51 entries in the -220 lbs weight class in Greco-Roman wrestling. He won six fights, five by pins, and lost two. In Freestyle John won five fights and lost two. There were 65 entries in John’s draw. Below are the round by round details of John’s fights. |
