22ème Challenge International de LUTTE LIBRE de Nègrepelisse, France

This Olympic free-style wrestling competition had participants from 53 wrestling clubs from France and Spain and a team of 8 boys and 1 girl from Great Britain organised by the British Wrestling Association. There were 263 participants in three age bands: les benjamins, minimes et cadets.

John Jayne competed in the Cadets at -85 kg. There were six boy in his weight group including two former French national medalists. John won all of his matches by pinning his opponent in the first round. This year's French national Bronze medalist placed 2nd and a Bulgarian from Spain placed 3rd.
