XIII Warsaw Judo Open, Warsaw, Poland

One member of the Moberly Judo Club participated in the 13^th Warsaw Judo Open. This is one of the year's premier competitions in Eastern Europe. It is the largest competition of the year in Poland and is a selection even for the Polish National Teams for U17 and U20. There were 950 participants from 14 countries.

The competition had three age bands for men and women: U15, U17 and U20.  John Jayne entered at -73 kg in both the U15 age band and in the U17 age band. He won Gold in U15 and Bronze in U17. He had five matches in the U15, a bye and six matches in the U17. The one match he did lose, in the U17, was by two penalties (yuko) to nil. There were 22 entries in the U15 -73 kg and 33 entries in the U17 -73 kg.
