This competition had two age categories: Men Under 20 (1990 - 1992) and Men Under 17 (1993 - 1995). There were 944 participants from twenty three countries. Moberly Judo Club had two participants, both in the U20 category. Adam Conroy entered at -55 kg. He won his first match by ippon against a boy from Switzerland and his second against a boy from the Netherlands on flags. He lost his third match by ippon to a German boy, who was an eventual Bronze medalist. In the repechage Adam won his first match by ippon against a boy from Monaco and his second by a yuko against a German boy. He then lost the Bronze medal match on flags against another German. There were 32 competitors is this category. Aaron Turner entered at -60 kg. He won his first match by ippon against a German boy and lost his second by a yuko to a Belgian boy, who lost in the next round. Thus Aaron did not get a second chance in the repechage.
