33^rd Matsuru Dutch Open Espoir, Eindhoven, The Netherlands

The 33^rd Matsuru Dutch Open Espoir Judo Tournament was one of the top level competitions of the year for juniors in western Europe. It was organised for judoka from 12 to under 20 years of age and was divided into three age categories: under 15, under 17 and under 20. All three age categories allowed both arm locks and strangles.

Moberly had only one participant this year. John Jayne won Silver at -42 kg in the U15 age band. There were 44 boys in his draw. He had six fights, losing the final by a penalty. There were no other scores in the match.
