Three members of the Moberly Judo Club participated on the British Team at the European Cadet Judo Championships that were held in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, from the 4th to 6th of July. At -50 kg Aaron Turner lost his first match to the boy from Estonia and lost his first match in the repechage to the boy from Ireland. There were 31 boys in the draw. At -55 kg Adam Conroy lost his first match to the boy from Romania. In the repechage he first beat the boy from the Ukraine and then the boy from Bulgaria, before losing to the eventual Bronze Medalist from Moldova. He finished in joint 13th place. There were 32 boys in the draw. At -70 kg Ella Carter-Allen won her first match against the girl from Moldova and lost her second to the eventual Gold Medal winner from Germany. In the repechage she won her first match against the girl from Sweden and lost her second to the eventual Bronze Medalist from France. She finished in joint 7th place. There were 19 girls in the draw. This result, along with the joint 7th place by Chloe Jackson at -48 kg, was the best results obtained by the British Team. RESULTS 7th -70 kg Ella Carter-Allen |
