This is Germany's premier international competition of the year for boys under 15 years of age (born in 1994 and 1995) and is a Germany national selection event. There were participants from 16 Germany regional squads and from several countries, including Belgium, England, Germany, Holland, Poland, and Russia. There were 284 participants, including 41 boys from Moscow. The matches were 4 minutes and both arm locks and strangles were allowed. John Jayne was Moberly's only entry. He won Gold at -37 kg, winning his first four fights by ippon throws and the final by two yukos and a koda to nil against the Germany boy that he lost to in the final of the Antwerp Open earlier this year. Both Bronze Medalists came from John's side of the draw. The finals were run one at a time at the end of the day, with a running commentary over the loud speaker system. This result improves upon the Bronze Medal that John won in this competition last year at -34 kg. -37 kg Medal Table 1. John Jayne, Moberly Judo-Club/GBR 2. Max Baczak, TSV Hertha Walheim/NW 3.
