Eilbecker Ifis Cup, Hamburg, Germany

The Eilbecker Ifis Cup was held this last weekend in Hamburg by one of Germany's leading judo clubs, this year's winner of the German National U 17 Championships. Most participants were from Germany and Poland. There were two age band for boys and girls ––– the under 13 year olds born in 1995-96-97 and under 15 year olds born in 1993-94-95.

On Saturday John Jayne won the U 13 age band at -37 kgs, having Russian boys now living in Hamburg in the semifinal and final. On Sunday John Jayne won the U 15 age band in the same weight class. Following the Sunday competition he was invited to have a "friendly" match with the winner of the U 15 -34 kgs weight class, which John won as well.
