This was an excellent competition with most of the best boys in Holland present. Moberly Judo club had one participant. John Jayne competed in the 1993-94-95 age band on Saturday. He had seven fights, winning six of them. He lost to the Dutch National Champion in the third round by a juko, but as that boy lost in the semi-final John met him again in the reparcharge. This time John won by a juko. John went on to beat the winner of the reparcharge on the other half of the draw to take Third Place.

On Sunday John fought in the 1996-97 age band. In the final he met the boy that he lost to in Venray (and eventual Gold medal winner in Venray) in June. This time John won.
