John Jayne was Moberly Judo Club’s only entry this year. John placed 5th. In the first round he had Federico Cavanna from Italy, then James Austin withdrew in the second round. In the third round, the quarter final, John lost to Tobias Mol of the Netherlands. Tobias went on to win Silver. He was the World Junior Championships Bronze Medalist in 2009. In the reperchage John first beat Mathieu Lagourde of France and then Adam Hall of GBR (2 x European Cup Silver medalist and Silver medalist is the last Brisith National Championships).

John lost to Jorge Fonseca of Portugal in the Bronze medal match. Jorge won Gold in the European U23 Championships last year.
