13^th Sparda International Cup for Young Men Under 15 Years, Duisburg, Germany

This is Germany's premier international competition of the year for boys under 15 years of age and is a Germany national squad selection event. There were 309 participants from 152 judo clubs from Belgium, England, Germany, Holland, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Sweden and Slovenia. There were 17 German regional squads present. The matches were 4 minutes and both arm locks and strangles were allowed. John Jayne was Moberly's only entry. He won Silver at -60 kg. There were 35 participants in this weight class.

John had six matches. He had the boy that placed 5th this year in the German U17 (three year age band) National Championships at -60 kg in the third round and, in the semi-final the boy that won Bronze in this years U17 (also three year age band) Slovenian National Championships at -60 kg. They won the two Bronze medals. John lost in the final on flags to the present U15 Belgian National Champion. This is the fifth year that John has competed in this competition, winning a medal every year. The competition is for a two year age band and Germans are restricted to being born in the two years. This year it was 1997 and 1998. Non Germans are allowed to enter when they are younger. This allowed John five years at the competition. His results are:

2011 Silver at -60 kg
