Cadet Selection Trials, Sheffield EIS

Moberly Judo Club had two members invited to participate in the Cadet Selection Trials this year. This year's Trials served for selection for three international events: European Cadet Championships on 26-28 June in Slovenia; European Youth Olympic Festival on 19-24 July in Finland; and World Cadet Championships on 6-9 August in Hungary.

The Home Countries (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland & Wales) nominated players to participate in a Trials event on Saturday 14th March at Sheffield EIS. England nominated three players per weight category, and Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales each nominated one player per weight category.

The Selection Panel consists of the Director of World Class Programmes, a representative from each home country and an independent observer. The Director of World Class Programmes chairs the selection meeting.

The selection panel reserves the right not to select a player for any individual category, if they feel that the player is not of a suitable standard for this level of event. They also reserve the right not to select a player who they feel is unsuitable as a team member and ambassador for the BJA.
