Cadets International Championship of Hope, Coimbra, Portugal

The "International Championship of Hope" (for 15 and 16 year olds) took place on 19 and 20 April at the Pavilion Hall of Miranda. There were 136 male judokas and 85 female judokas. The event had participants from Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Tunisia and Sao Tome and Principe.

Moberly Judo Club had three participants: Ella Carter-Allen -70 kg, Aaron Turner -50 kg and Adam Conroy -55 kg. There were 7 participants in the -70 weight class, 22 participants in the -50 kg weight class and 22 participants in the -55 kg weight class.

Ella lost in her pool and in the final to the same French girl. Aaron lost in the semi-final to the French boy that got Silver. Adam got a bye in the first round, lost to a Belgian boy in the next round, then won three matches in the reparcharge before losing the the same Belgian boy again. That Belgian boy got joint 5^th place and Adam got joint 7^th.
